Advanced Tab Actions

WebLibre’s main tab guide explains the basics. This page focuses on the extra workflows that matter once you use a lot of tabs.

Pin Tabs

WebLibre can pin tabs so they are easier to keep around as important or long-lived tabs.

Pinned tabs are useful for things like:

  • music players

  • reference pages

  • work dashboards

  • tabs you reopen constantly

When sorting tabs, WebLibre can also use Sort Pinned First so pinned tabs stay grouped ahead of the rest of the list.

Clone a Tab

The tab menu can clone the current page into another tab.

This is useful when you want to:

  • keep one copy of the page where it is

  • open a second copy for a different task

  • move the duplicate into another tab type or context

Use this when comparing the same page in different states or when you want to branch a browsing path without losing your original tab.

Reorder Tabs Manually

In List and Grid tab view, WebLibre can let you drag and drop tabs to reorder them.

To do that:

  1. Open the tab view

  2. Turn on reordering mode

  3. Drag tabs into the order you want

This works only in the normal manual tab workflow. If WebLibre says reordering is unavailable, switch back to the default manual tab mode first.

Create a Container by Dragging Tabs Together

WebLibre can also create a new container by dragging one tab onto another.

In that workflow:

  • WebLibre collects both tab titles

  • it prepares a new container

  • you can confirm or edit the container details

  • both tabs are assigned to that container after you save

This is useful when two or more tabs clearly belong together and you decide mid-session that they should become a container.

For more on containers themselves, see Containers.

Bookmark All Open Tabs

If you want to save a whole tab set:

  1. Open the tab view

  2. Open the tab actions menu

  3. Tap Bookmark all

WebLibre offers:

  • Fast — save all tabs into a chosen folder right away

  • Detailed — review them one by one before saving

This works well after research sessions, shopping comparisons, or travel planning sessions.

Clear Container Data

If the currently selected container has Cookie Isolation enabled, WebLibre can offer Clear Container Data from the tab actions menu.

This clears the container’s stored site data and can also recreate the tabs afterward if you choose that option.

Use this when:

  • one container is stuck in a bad login state

  • you want a fresh start for a specific container

  • you want to clear one browsing context without resetting the whole browser

Close Tabs in Bulk

The advanced tab actions menu also supports bulk closing flows such as:

  • All Tabs

  • Private Tabs

  • Isolated Tabs

  • Filtered Tabs

This works especially well together with the filters described in Tab Management.

Tips

  • Pin only the tabs you truly want to keep visible over time

  • Use reordering when your current tab order matters more than automatic recency

  • Use drag-to-create-container when a loose group of tabs turns into a project

  • Use Bookmark all before aggressively closing a large tab set
