Appearance & Themes
This page covers settings that change how WebLibre looks, as well as a few display settings that affect websites.
Theme
WebLibre offers three theme modes:
-
System — Matches your Android light or dark setting
-
Light — Always use the light theme
-
Dark — Always use the dark theme
In practice, this mainly changes the browser interface. Websites that follow your preferred color scheme may also switch between light and dark styles.
Find this in Settings > General > Theme.
User Interface Zoom
User Interface Zoom changes the size of WebLibre’s own interface, such as buttons, menus, and settings screens. It does not directly change the size of text inside websites.
You can set it from 50% to 150% in 5% steps.
This can help if:
-
buttons or labels feel too small
-
you want more items to fit on screen
-
you prefer a larger interface for easier tapping
Find this in Settings > General > User Interface Zoom.
Disable Animations
Turn on Disable Animations to reduce motion across the app and turn off app animations.
This is useful if you are sensitive to motion or want a more static interface.
Find this in Settings > General > Disable Animations.
Web Page Display
The following settings affect how websites are shown inside WebLibre.
Web Fonts
Web Fonts lets websites use their own custom fonts.
If you turn it off, websites fall back to more basic fonts. This can improve readability on some sites, but it may also make pages look less like the designer intended.
Automatic Font Size
When Automatic Font Size is enabled, WebLibre adjusts website text size based on your system settings.
If you turn it off, you can manually control:
-
Font Size Factor — scales website text size
-
Font Inflation — enlarges text on pages that do not properly declare a mobile viewport
Font Size Factor
Use Font Size Factor when you want website text to stay consistently larger or smaller than normal.
This setting is only available when Automatic Font Size is turned off.
Browser Languages
Browser Languages controls which language preferences WebLibre exposes to websites. Sites may use this to decide which language version of a page to show.
You can enable one or more suggested languages, or add a custom locale such as en-US.
If you enable more than one language, WebLibre can present multiple preferences to websites instead of only one. This can be useful if you regularly read sites in more than one language.
You can also add a custom locale manually. If the locale identifier is not valid, WebLibre asks you to correct it before saving.
This setting affects website language preference, not just the text shown in the browser interface.
Find this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Browser Languages.
