History & Downloads
WebLibre gives you two related library screens:
-
History for pages you visited
-
Downloads for files the browser recorded as downloads
These screens are useful when you want to reopen something you saw earlier, clean up older entries, or remove download records without going through the full privacy settings flow.
Open History or Downloads
You can reach both screens from the browser menu:
-
Open the browser menu
-
Tap History or Downloads
The two screens use the same general layout, but they focus on different data.
What History Shows
The History screen shows pages WebLibre recorded during browsing.
Entries are grouped by time so older and newer visits are easier to scan. Each entry shows:
-
the page title when available
-
the page address
-
the visit time
-
the visit type
The visit types currently exposed in the filter menu are:
-
Followed Links
-
Page Reloads
-
Downloads
If you tap a history entry, WebLibre opens it again in a regular tab.
What Downloads Shows
The Downloads screen shows download records saved by WebLibre.
This is the list of downloads the browser remembers. It is not the same thing as browsing your whole device storage in a file manager.
If you tap a download entry, WebLibre opens its recorded address in a regular tab.
|
Deleting a download entry from WebLibre does not always delete the file itself. If the file still exists on your device, WebLibre can ask whether you also want to remove the actual downloaded file. |
Search and Text Filter
Both screens support a text filter.
To use it:
-
Open the screen you want
-
Tap the filter button
-
Choose Text Filter
-
Type part of the title, file name, or address
This helps when you know roughly what something was called but do not want to scroll through everything.
Filter by Date
Both screens can filter entries by a date range.
To do that:
-
Open the filter menu
-
Choose Filter Date
-
Pick the start and end dates
This is useful when you only want to review downloads from one project, or history from one specific day or week.
Filter History by Visit Type
The History screen also lets you narrow the list by visit type.
From the filter menu, you can turn the available visit types on or off. That makes it easier to answer questions such as:
-
pages I actually followed from links
-
pages I reloaded repeatedly
-
download-related visits
The Downloads screen does not show these history-specific visit-type filters because it is already scoped to download entries.
Reset Filters
If the list looks incomplete after filtering:
-
Open the filter menu
-
Tap Reset Filter
That clears the text filter and any active date or visit-type filters.
Delete One Entry
To remove a single entry:
-
tap the delete icon on that row
On History, this removes that visit from the browser’s saved history. On Downloads, this removes the download record from WebLibre.
If the download still exists on your device, WebLibre may ask whether you also want to delete the file itself.
Delete Multiple Entries
You can also remove several entries together:
-
Long-press an item to enter selection mode
-
Tap any other entries you want to include
-
Tap the delete button in the top app bar
This is useful when clearing one browsing session or cleaning up several related downloads at once.
Clear the Whole Category
If you want to clear history or downloads more broadly:
-
Open History or Downloads
-
Tap the delete button when nothing is selected
WebLibre then opens the regular delete-browsing-data flow with that category already selected.
This is a good option when you want to remove all history entries or all download records at once.
Relationship to Privacy Cleanup
The library screens are for reviewing and managing entries directly. WebLibre also has broader cleanup tools under Data Management, such as:
-
Delete Browsing Data
-
Incognito Mode
-
Auto-Clear History
Use the library screens when you want to inspect what is there first. Use privacy cleanup settings when you already know you want automatic or broader deletion behavior.
Tips
-
Use History when you want to reopen a page you forgot to bookmark
-
Use Downloads when you want to clean up WebLibre’s download list without opening Android’s file manager
-
Use the date filter before bulk deletion when you only want to remove one time window
-
If something should stay permanently easy to find, save it as a bookmark instead of relying only on history
