Screenshot Protection

WebLibre includes a Screenshot Protection setting that prevents the operating system and other apps from capturing screenshots or screen recordings while you use the browser.

This is useful when:

  • you regularly screen-share with another app and want WebLibre’s content excluded

  • you do not want apps with screen-recording permission to capture your browsing

  • you handle sensitive accounts and want an extra UI-level guard

Turn It On

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security

  2. Turn on Screenshot Protection

The setting takes effect immediately for new screens. You may need to leave and re-enter a screen for it to apply there.

What It Does

When the setting is on:

  • Android-level screenshots taken inside WebLibre come out blank

  • Screen recordings show a blank frame instead of WebLibre’s content

  • Recent-app previews of WebLibre may also appear blank, depending on your device

What It Does Not Do

Screenshot Protection is a UI-level guard. It does not:

  • prevent another device from photographing your screen

  • prevent accessibility services or root-level tools from reading the screen

  • protect content that has already been screenshotted before you turned the setting on

For broader privacy choices, see the Privacy & Security Overview.

Tips

  • If a legitimate app you trust needs to record your WebLibre screen (for example, a screen-sharing helper), turn the setting off temporarily and turn it back on afterwards.

  • Combine Screenshot Protection with App Lock if you want both an unlock barrier and a capture guard.
