Error Logs & Troubleshooting Tools

When WebLibre behaves unexpectedly, the built-in troubleshooting tools can help you confirm whether the problem is only visual, site-specific, or a deeper browser issue.

You can find the main tools in Settings > Advanced.

Error Logs

WebLibre includes a dedicated Error Logs screen.

Use it when you want to:

  • review recent problems

  • collect details before reporting a bug

  • check whether a problem shows up as a warning or error

Open Error Logs

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced

  2. Open Error Logs

The newest entries appear first.

Filter by Severity

The logs screen can filter entries by severity.

Current levels include:

  • TRACE

  • DEBUG

  • INFO

  • WARNING

  • ERROR

  • FATAL

If you only want the more serious issues, switch the filter to ERROR or FATAL.

If you are trying to understand a behavior change in detail, a broader level such as INFO or DEBUG may be more useful.

Open Log Details

Tap a log entry to open its full details.

That can include:

  • the message

  • the time

  • the related error text

  • stack trace information when available

This is usually the best view to use when you are preparing a bug report.

Copy Logs

The logs screen also includes Copy logs.

Use it when you want to paste logs into:

  • an issue report

  • a feedback thread

  • a support message

If there are no matching log entries, WebLibre shows No logs available.

Other Troubleshooting Tools in Advanced Settings

Settings > Advanced also includes a few additional tools:

  • Icon Cache — useful when a site’s favicon looks stale or wrong

  • Reset UI — useful when part of the app looks visually stuck

  • Experimental Features — useful only when you are intentionally testing lower-level behavior

These are not everyday settings. Use them when you have a clear reason.

A Practical Workflow

If WebLibre is acting strangely:

  1. Reproduce the problem once more if you safely can

  2. Open Error Logs

  3. Filter to WARNING, ERROR, or FATAL

  4. Tap the relevant entry and review the details

  5. Copy the logs if you want to report the issue

If the issue looks purely visual, also consider Reset UI or the Icon Cache tools in Settings > Advanced.

Tips

  • Use logs to confirm patterns, not just one-off guesses

  • Prefer copying logs right after reproducing the problem so the relevant entries are still easy to find

  • If a site alone is broken, also check Site Controls and Tracking Protection

  • If the whole browser feels unstable after changing low-level options, turn off the related experimental setting and restart
