Export & Import Settings

Use Settings > General > Export & Import Settings to move selected settings to another WebLibre installation or profile. You can save an export as a file or copy it to the clipboard, then import from either source.

Export Settings

  1. Open Settings > General > Export & Import Settings.

  2. Select App settings, Gecko preferences, or both. Gecko preferences are the advanced engine preferences you changed by hand.

  3. Tap Save file and choose a folder, or tap Copy to put the export on the clipboard.

You can change the saved export folder from the screen’s menu. Keep the exported file somewhere you can reach from the other device if you plan to move it.

Import Settings

  1. On the receiving profile or device, open Settings > General > Export & Import Settings.

  2. Tap Open file to select an export, or Paste if you copied it.

  3. Review the available sections and choose which ones to apply.

Review your settings after import, especially any privacy or connection choices that depend on the new device.

What Is Not Included

This transfers settings, not tabs, history, bookmarks, saved logins, or your account sign-in. It is not a full backup. For browsing data, use profile backups, bookmark export, or Firefox Sync as appropriate.

Some preferences stay on the original device, including web search preferences, the home and new-tab section layouts, menu order, and pinned add-ons. Wallpaper images are not included either. Set these up again on the receiving device.

An export may contain connection details or other sensitive preferences. Review it before sharing it or pasting it into another app. For a complete copy of a profile, use an encrypted profile backup instead.
